Air Displays

Always a memorable occasion, Duxford's 2009 spring air display gave our partially-tamed photographer, Peter Osborne, a chance to capture some fine images. Here's a selection, from Typhoon (nee Eurofighter) back to the emotive dual Spitfire display.

There was also a beautifully crafted machine with a wing profile like a scaled-down Spitfire - ironically designed and built in Germany.

Also a major crowd attraction was the B17 'Sally B', which featured in the Memphis Belle film, a Catalina flying boat, and a B25 Mitchell twin-motor light bomber.

Silverstone Classic July 2008

In 2008 the air display to catch our Oz's lenses was at the Silverstone Classic motor racing weekend. We particularly like this couple strolling unconcernedly as a thrilling aerial duet is performed above their heads.
