Jeremy Walton has spent a working (1967-to date) lifetime messing about with motors, earning a crust from writing about ancient and modern road, race and rally cars for leading British, American and European magazines.

Jeremy is the author of 35 published motoring books and one unpublished novel. Most of his books are automotive marque histories covering BMW, Audi, Lotus, and Ford performers and competition cars; but two are biographies and another an autobiography. More details within our book link.

Walton won the International Automotive Writers Award (IAMC) for the Robert Bentley of Boston USA title, Unbeatable BMW, in 1998. His later BMW 6 Series title (issued in hard and softback) was also an award-winner with the same American organization and there was recognition in the form of an ‘Honorable Mention’ for his Roundel column in the 76th Writer’s Digest competition.

Motor racing, including six 24-hour races, allowed an excellent insight into the extreme qualities of some leading brands in over 100 events up to European Championship level.

Following what had become the World Rally Championship gave him respect for the truly talented during the charismatic 1968-1990 era of supercars and latter day classics, but Walton also reported, and occasionally competed, at sports, saloon, rallycross, autocross and many other motorsporting meetings.
