Ford Capri
The Development and Competition History of Ford's European GT Car
Capri: The development and competition history of Ford's European GT car went through three editions.

If imitation truly is, “ the sincerest form of flattery” then Walton is the most flattered automotive author alive. The title covered 1969-1986 birth and death of Capri and benefited from substantial Ford access and support. All models over three generations are covered, along with their rallying (!) and motor racing achievements.

Rarities, such as the RS2600 and RS3100 Capris, are detailed along with turbo-charged derivatives from Zakspeed, Tickford and Turbo Technics. The unique aspect to this Capri title is that Walton worked with many of the personalities who made the Capri such an enduring style and performance icon.

Today, the most public interest seems currently to lay with the much-maligned Capri and its younger fans throughout Europe.

Now, negotiations continue to recreate such classic Capri knowledge in a 21st Century format. Expect a lot more colour and greater text clarity, including an exploration of Capri’s starring roles in TV and film.

Any new edition will also contain comprehensive performance and production statistics, expanded competition results and a section devoted to the realities of restoring and living with Capris today.
