From the thirties it came. Ron Hickman, former designer of exquisite flyweight Lotus sports cars, visited our rural Hampshire home from his Channel Island base.

This is his massive V16 Cadillac en route to Brooklands.

Sadly Hickman, practical design genius who brought us such diverse creations as the Black & Decker Workmate and the Lotus Elan, died in 2011.
